Gigabit City Summit hosts global dialog on Open Government, Big Data and Innovation
The Gigabit City Summit is set to host a diverse, dynamic range of guests on the topic of Open Government, Big Data and Innovation on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 from 7:00 am – 9:00 am CDT. Co-chairs for this session are Jay Nath, Chief Innovation Officer for the City of San Francisco, and Nigel Jacob, from Boston’s Office of New Urban Mechanics.
Guests will discuss the opportunities and challenges of adopting open innovation principles to solve public sector problems. We invite public officials with an interest in information and technology, and anyone interested in the smart city movement to join us live via WebEx:
This global dialog will include leaders in the open data and civic innovation space from around the world. Topics for discussion include how to build an ecosystem of civic innovation; what are the necessary conditions to grow this ecosystem; innovation as a function of risk management; the layering of spatial data; and how to define sense of space in the cloud.
