Verizon boosts speed of data service
We’ve always said Google is the catalyst for driving conversations about innovation and technology in the Kansas City region, not the sole end game. Other providers are jumping into the high-speed fiber game as well.
Verizon has added a 300 megabits-per-second data service for households with heavy Internet habits. Currently the service is focused primarily in the Northeast, Florida, Texas and California and has not moved into our region yet. A Verizon competitor, Gigabit Squared, recently raised $200 million to bring gigabit-per-second broadband to a select group of communities.
These initiatives are great examples of the wide range of technology solutions that will ultimately be available in the area upon which to build innovative services and products.
