Google Gigabyte to Help Kansas City Libraries Close Digital Divide
The Digital Shift features the Kansas City Kansas Public Library K-20 Librarian Initiative in its online publication this month. The Digital Shift features all technology-related stories and features published by Library Journal and School Library Journal, two of the most respected publications in the library field.
The K-20 Librarian Initiatve brings together school, public and academic libraries. The goal is to make the Internet accessible to everyone and to use technology to foster more educational and cultural exchanges. The KCK libraries already offer free Internet access to the public, and schools are a key access point for many economically disadvantaged students.
