Entrepreneur's Past Directs Telehealth Efforts, Service
Jeff Pfaff watched his mother take care of his aging grandmother while growing up. He remembers the numerous trips to her house and to the doctor’s office, the hassle and expense it put on his grandmother. In creating Caregiv, a home-patient communication and monitoring platform, Pfaff sought to eliminate these constant hospital visits for the aging population in favor of doctor’s visits right in their own living room—through their television. This service illustrates the benefits of telehealth networks in modern health care. With the help of a fiber network, telehealth services can become more efficient in diagnostic doctors’ visits and in caretakers’ monitoring their patients or relatives.
