Kansas City Libraries Play Vital Role in Public Access
With Google looking to connect public service buildings with free fiber, it makes sense that the libraries might end up being the biggest ralliers in the Rally for Fiber in Kansas City. Crosby Kemper III, executive director of the Kansas City Public Library, said "we can't wait around for someone else to act. We have to be the ones to start acting...now."
In efforts to fight the digital divide in Kansas City, public libraries are striving to provide more and more services that connect residents with the technical world, whether it's job applications, distance learning or health care information and facilitation.
