e-Community Center for Rosedale Area

Rosedale is part of KCK's urban core and is home to more 14,000 residents, over 60% of whom are renters not home owners.  A very significant number of the residents are children and the elderly.  The average income is among the lowest in the Kansas City Metro Area.  As a result, a huge percentage of people in Rosedale will never be able to afford to pay for fiber Internet in their homes.

This area is crying out for a community center because it has no central gathering place for the residents.  Better yet, how about an e-Community center that could be a hotspot for free wireless and set up for after school tutoring, classes for elderly residents, and even a business incubator to attract high tech entrepreneurs to the area?

  • There´s got to be an abandoned school in Rosedale that would be a good setting for the e-community center.
